Biotechnology Post-graduate students share within the iKamva ‘Dropbox’

Biotechnology lecturer, David Pugh in consultation with CIECT, setup an interactive online environment for his Post-graduate students. He has made extensive use of the Dropbox tool within iKamva to enable students to:

– submit draft versions of academic theses; and
– share individual contributions with the lecturer (privately).

Furthermore David used the online environment to share additional resources specifically related to individual student needs. Hence the lecturer is able to download, review, edit and drop the students’ draft contributions. The Dropbox tool within iKamva also enables the lecturer and students to archive and easily retrieve previous draft version of theses. David stated that this method of sharing and collaboration with students “works like a dream”.

NB: Please note that the eTeaching platform (Chisimba) will be phased out by the end of 2014. Hence lecturers are encouraged to contact the CIECT team, to make use of the iKamva (Sakai) platform.
