Anthropology lecturer creates an interactive online environment within iKamva

Lecturer Micheal Akuupa of the Anthropology Department, has created an interactive online environment within the iKamva (Sakai) platform. The online environment is set-up to:
– send announcements;
– provide a course outline; and
– upload course resources (such as core readings).

The lecturer has organised the course resources within the ‘document pool’. Hence, students are able to access:
– Exam scope;
– Reading material; and
– Tutorials.

Furthermore, Micheal has created interactive discussion forums (asynchronous communication and assessment eTool), which enables the students to engage in discussion topics at their own pace.

The CIECT team conducted a demonstration for the Anthropology students, regarding the interactive online environment; and the use of the anti-plagiarism system, Turnitin (Tii).
