EED Law lecturer creates an online interactive space for tutors who assist within a large class

Lecturer, Mahmoud Patel has created an interactive online space within the iKamva/Sakai platform, which enables his tutors to share and engage with the English for Education Development (EED) Law students.

The CIECT team conducted a training workshop for the tutors (Monday, 19 August 2013). The workshop enabled the tutors to:
– setup specific tutorial groups;
– share resources with assigned students; and
– create a discussion forum with related topics.

This blended teaching method facilitates the interaction between tutors and their student tutorial groups. It further reinforces a structured methodology whereby the lecturer (Mr Patel) and tutors effectively engage within a large class.

The Centre for Innovative Educational and Communication Technologies (CIECT) invites you to attend the Annual eLearning Colloquium, on Thursday 05 September 2013. Lecturers across Faculties will share their experiences and challenges regarding the various communication, content and assessment eTools used to enhance their teaching practice.

eLearning Colloquium, 5th September 2013
Venue: Life Sciences Building, 5th floor SANBI (Max Theiler and Aaron Klug Seminar Room)
